About the company

Ata is supporting a privately owned business in Nottingham on the search for an experienced assembly fitter to join their team due to growth. The company specialise within the design, build and installation of fully automated equipment and have been in operation in the UK for over 30 years. They have experience designing equipment within various markets which has allowed them to stay busy during the COVID19 global pandemic. These markets include, pharma & medical, right through to defence and nuclear. Our client offers everything from project design using their in house 2d & 3d cad facilities, right through to visiting customer sites to support with the installation and commissioning of equipment.

About the role

As an assembly fitter you will be involved in the full mechanical assembly process of automated equipment.

95% of your time will be spent in the workshop where you will have the following responsibilities.

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Reading and interpreting of schematics.
  • Using of hand tools to assemble machinery.
  • Using of power tools to assembly machinery.
  • Using of measuring equipment.
  • Working to fine tolerance.
  • Using milling and lathe machinery to make parts (Training can be provided)
  • Full machine build
  • Testing of machinery

Further responsibilities may include visiting customer sites with the projects team to help assist with the installation and commissioning of machinery.

About you

As an assembly fitter, it is important that you have experience within a similar field or environment. You should have knowledge and working practice of working from engineering drawings and customer specification to complete machine builds. Due to the nature of the machines, it is also important that you have had exposure to pneumatic assembly.

  • Recognised engineering qualification (Beneficial)
  • Experience using hand and power tools (Essential)
  • Experience using measuring equipment
  • Experience using milling and lathe machinery (Desirable)
