Skilled Mechanical Assembly Fitter

3-6 month contract
Rates: £15.00 - £18.00p/h (Limited co./Umbrella)

I am working with a key client in Stockport, who specialise in the design, build and supply of bespoke special purpose machinery into varied industries from construction, retail, 3PL, HVAC and automotive. They are looking for a Mechanical Assembly Fitter for a minimum 3-month contract, with the opportunity for that to be extended. You will assist with fitting and assembly activities, working on a day shift, with the potential of overtime.
As a skilled Mechanical Assembly Fitter, you will require to conduct the following duties:
v Ability to read complex mechanical engineering drawings to tight tolerances
v Assemble, fit all aspects mechanically to ensure fit for purpose
v Ability with high volume parts and moving components etc for complex automated machinery build
v Basic electrical - wiring and fitting sensors
v Ensure all paperwork/job cards are filled out correctly and part lists are correct
The successful Assembly Fitter will need to have the following attributes:
v Good experience with LEAN, 5’s and Continuous Improvement principles
v A strong team player
v Experience within a special purpose or automated machinery environment
v Strong communication skills, with a keen eye for Health, Safety and Quality
v You will ideally be apprentice trained with a mechanical engineering background or NVQ Level 3 Engineering
v Flexible for possible travel in the future to assist with installation
