** Mechanical Design Engineer **
Location: Greater Manchester
3-6-month contract / project
£35.00 - £40.00p/h DOE – Outside IR35
Mechanical assemblies / materials handling / SPM

I am currently representing a key client based in the North West, who are a leading UK design, manufacturer and install of bespoke machinery and equipment into industrial, FMCG, and power industries. Their turnkey engineering services cover design, projects, manufacturing, as well as installation & commission.
Due to winning new contracts, they are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineers to join their team on a contracts basis to assist on this key project.
For this position, you will require to conduct the following daily duties:
- Producing designed and detailed manufacturing drawings in accordance with the project requirements
- Ability to design utilising Autodesk Inventor and/or Solidworks
- Strong appreciation of mechanical and system engineering requirements
- Producing detailed designs and manufacturing drawings
- Experienced in industrial materials handling, conveyors, machinery GAs and layouts
- Experienced of engineering calculations would be advantageous, as well as tolerancing GD&T
- Preparing required BOMs and ensuring all paperwork is administered effectively and to business& engineering requirements
- Supporting the Project Engineer in all areas of design, and potential for design improvements and suggestions
- Work to company engineering standards and requirements project dependant
The successful person will need to have the following attributes:
- Experienced in special purpose machinery and capital equipment design
- Apprentice trained ideally to NVQ L3/HNC Mechanical Engineering
- Autodesk Inventor / Solidworks conversant
- A team player, flexible mindset, who strives for excellence
