Mechanical Design Engineer – Construction/Infrastructure/Engineering
Rate: £40 - £45 per hour (Umbrella/Limited), outside of IR35
Contract Duration: 3-month rolling
Location: Derbyshire
2 days from home, 3 days in the office
Responsibilities:
- Undertake high-level concept design and calculations of Mechanical systems based on client specifications.
- Specify Mechanical systems and perform calculations using tools such as Excel and Mathcad.
- Verify and perform calculations to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Engage in concept design and engineering thinking to enhance cost-effectiveness, weight reduction, and manufacturability.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience in Refurbishment & New Building Design.
- Proficiency in Off-site Fabrication and Principal Design.
- Knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical Services and Ventilation Design.
- Previous employment with an SME contractor or consultant.
- Exposure to infrastructure and utilities sectors.
- Affiliation with the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).
- Proficiency in software such as Revit, Autodesk, Navisworks, Common Data Environments, and BIM.
