Mechanical Design Engineer
Leicestershire
Salary: £40,000 - £5,000 (DOE)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, early finish Friday
Benefits: 25 Days + Bank Holidays, Life Assurance
The Company:
Our client is a a specialist provider of bespoke plant across various sectors. With a half century history, they are recognised as one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of specialist heavy duty automotive equipment providing all design, manufacturing and aftermarket care that their longstanding customers may require.
Forming part of a worldwide group, they have a dedicated staff of over 60 across their site. Due to consistent growth, they require a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their friendly, enthusiastic design team
The Role:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for carrying out all the design work required across project.
This will look like:
- Designing bespoke trailers and all mechanical components based on client specifications
- Produce 3D models and drawings alongside 2D design for manufacture
- Supporting manufacturing drawings
- Responsibility of compliance and regulations and documentation administration
- Customer interaction during the design before handover to production
The Candidate:
The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will very much be attitude driven, with the ability to work well within a tight-knit, friendly team.
Experience required:
- A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering (HNC/Degree)
- 3D modelling experience
- Solid background as a Mechanical Design Engineer
- Solidworks experience
- Experience within a sheet metal/fabrication setting would be highly advantageous
- Desire to learn and be part of a small and enthusiastic design team
- Friendly, proactive and attention to detail driven
