ATA Recruitment are recruiting for a mechanical maintenance shift fitter to join a global manufacturing firm supplying to some of the biggest names in their field.

Since the new engineering manager joined in January of this year – he has signed off 5 new positions to upkeep on the demands that are increasing,

My client is undergoing a lot of changes with huge growth plans. There there has been significant investments made on site and are delivering on some of their biggest crucial projects as we speak. They are adding new and up to date machinery/equipment, making changes to some of their current processes and removing some obsolete and improving overall efficiency.

As the mechanical maintenance shift fitter you will be working alongside an electrical fitter – therefore you will never be working alone..

Role of the Mechanical Maintenance Shift Fitter:

  • Conduct PPM and reactive maintenance on a range of kit including bearings, pumps, rollers on pneumatics and much more
  • Carry out basic fabrications/welding tasks
  • Installation of new kit ensuring the aligments are followed
  • Improve or replace machinery and processes to increase reliability, production output and minimise disruption to the business
  • Respond quickly to production machine issues as they arise
  • Work directly on the CMMS system to receive work, log completed tasks and allocate spares to the job - on the job training to ensure you utilise this effectively

Requirements of the Mechanical Maintenance Shift Fitter:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent in mechanical engineering
  • Resilient to working within non climatised working conditions
  • Experience of working within a fast paced manufacturing environment, highly desirable 
  • Positive can do attitude
