Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £41,073
Shifts: 4 on 4 off 12-hour permanent nights
The Company
The company that is looking for a multi skilled maintenance engineer is a global chilled food to go manufacturer that has exclusive contracts with major supermarket chains.
They have over 15 UK sites and turn over a billion pound per annum.
There site near Worksop employs over a 1000 people and produces over 120 million units annually.
The company is about embark on a large 8-million-pound investment package in new machinery and equipment including installing 13 new robots to make the site more automated.
The Role
The multi skilled maintenance engineer’s role will be working in a team of over 20 and be centred around working to a planned preventive maintenance plan that will be controlled by a computer system.
As the factory doesn’t produce 24 hours a day this gives the night shift the time to mainly work on the preventative maintenance plan that has been put in place.
There will be an element of projects and installation work with the current plans to invest and make the plant more automated and this will normally carried out in this role with the plant is in evening shut down.
The normal breakdowns the maintenance engineer’s night role will include are mainly after water ingress from cleaning, but a variety of other breakdowns occur on a less common basis.
Electrically the role will include fault finding with a multi-meter, going through panels, sensors, relays, motors, safety circuits and replacing components.
Mechanically the role will include fault finding, excessive vibration checks, chains, belts, bearings.
There will be some working on PLC’s however no programming will be required it will just be checking I/O’s reading schematics and checking HMI screens
Shifts
The multi skilled maintenance engineer will be working on a 4 on 4 off 12-hour permanent nights.
The Person.
To be considered for the multi skilled maintenance engineer role you must be the following:
- Be NVQ Level 3 trained
- Be electrically biased
- Ideally from a food manufacturing background but not essential
- Be able to:
- Fault find
- Read drawing
- Isolate parts
- T.O.L.O
- Work on AC/DC
- Be confident
- Good interpersonal skills
- Have a positive attitude to life and work
- Be motivated
- Be hard working
The Benefits
- Salary- £41073 per annum
- With over times this can add up to roughly £43,000
- Over time paid at time and a half double time on a Sunday and any hours over 39 hours per week is classed as overtime
- 28 days a year inclusive of bank holiday
