Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Wakefield
Salary: £40k
Shifts: 3-week rotating shift pattern or earlies, lates and night plus 1 mandotory weekend per month

The company who are looking for a multiskilled maintenance engineer is a large global design and manufacturing business that turnover over more that £1 billion per year and has sites around the word with this site located in Wakefield.
The Role
The multiskilled maintenance engineering role will be to carry out planned maintenance and resolve breakdowns alongside an electrical engineer. This will include
Maintaining production machinery in a timely manner.
Fault find on a range of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Carry out effective repairs to machinery to ensure minimal downtime.
Accurately identify parts and equipment needed to complete a timely repair.
Ensure all safety protocol is carried out correctly.
Help to drive planned maintenance activity that results in downtime reduction.
Offer solutions to improve machine availability through improved repairs.
Offer solutions on improvements to health and safety on and around machines.
Work within a team environment to share job tasks.
Upskill work colleagues through interaction and knowledge sharing.
You will be working on ovens, gearboxes, motors, shafts, chains, 3 phase panels, invertors, DC drives, siemens and allen Bradley PLC’s (knowledge of inputs and outputs) Hydraulics and pneumatics, extruders, ovens, vacuum
Shifts
3 shifts on a 3-week rotating basis:
05:45 – 13:45
13:45 – 21:45
21:45 – 05:45 (sun-Thursday)
There is also a requirement for mandatory weekend overtime one week in every 3 and is based on 6 hours Saturday & 6 hours Sunday
The Person.
- Will be flexible
- Willing to do overtime
- Must have worked in a fast-paced consumer goods environment for a minimum of 2 years
- Must be able to safely operate a laith, milling machine (Mandatory)
- Be a competent fabricator (Mandatory)
- Be completely multi skilled between electrical and mechanical engineering but be mechanically biased.
