Principal/Lead Electrical Engineer Consultant
Location - Teesside
Length of contract - 3-6 months
Rate of pay - £400 - £500 per day DOE (Ltd co. outside IR35)
Heavy engineering / Power & Distribution / process plant / Strategy management
I am working with a key client in the Teesside area who are a global organisation, and that supply their product to the global marketplace. They operate a complex large process plant consisting of a heavy and hazardous engineering environment.
They are looking for a Principal/Lead Electrical Engineer to support their complex operations day to day, overseeing Power and distribution, and offering guidance, support, and strategic solutions to solving problems and ensuring improvements are implemented.
For this position of Principal/Lead Electrical Engineer, you will require to conduct the following duties:
v Provide Leadership and guidance, monitoring and looking at standards, and competencies framework
v Support and oversee the Electrical team, consisting of Electrical Lead/Section Engineers, Supervisors and Technicians
v Day to day guidance and support to Engineering Director
v Manage the substation (High Voltage 11kv-33kv authorised person)
v Adhering to all electrical industry standards and legislation within a heavy engineering high risk environment
v Strategic support to day-to-day operations and internal projects
v Assessing potential Major hazards – Overseeing assessments of hazards
The successful Principal/Lead Electrical Engineer will need to have the following attributes:
v Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, ideally Chartered
v Previous heavy engineering / large complex site, Electrical Engineering management experience
v Process controls appreciation – SCADA etc
v Six sigma trained / Continuous Improvement – highly desirable
v Proven Strategic thinker, problem solver
v Leadership and high degree of people skills
v Strong communicator at all levels
v I.T / computer skills, MS Office / Outlook / MRP systems (SAP advantageous)
