The Company
Our client has a rich trading history supplying automation solutions for customers in the automotive, nuclear and FMCG markets. They turnover £30 million, employ 150 staff and have decades of experience in providing bespoke automation for their customers. The systems that the business provide consist of robotics, along with any ancillary equipment required for the application the system will perform.
The company have a growth plan in place which will inevitably lead to a higher quantity of projects running concurrently across the business. Owing to this, the role of Projects Resource Planner has been created to ensure resources and capacity across projects can be more effectively planned and distributed.
The Role
The Projects Resource Planner will work closely with Heads of Departments and Project Managers within the business.
Using the companies planning system, you will act as a central point taking an overarching view of all the projects the company are delivering to ensure resource utilisation across current and pending projects is maximised whilst identifying short and long term resource risks.
The role will see you capacity plan, allocate resources and manpower to successfully complete simultaneously running projects whilst advising of any potential setbacks or resource issues to the Project Management team.
Your role will involve:
- Capacity planning and resource planning for projects running through the business
- Pulling short and long term capacity and resource data of the planning system to identify resources available for projects.
- Identifying and mitigating risks to project completion due to lack of capacity or resources.
- Managing and scheduling resources across multiple projects running through the business.
- Reacting to changes to projects to ensure resources are allocated effectively.
- Producing reports and visual overviews for Project Managers to show project completion and cost to complete.
- Communicating potential capacity or resource challenges to the Project Manager for each project

- Experience in planning resource across multiple projects simultaneously
- To be a strong influencer
- Strong planning and scheduling skills
- To be able to take an overarching view of project resource
