The Company

Our client is one of the Midlands largest recycling companies. With site across both the East and West Midlands, their purpose built sites can handle any form of recyclable waste. Their Leicester site processes 300,000 tonnes of mixed waste a year, with only 2.5% of this going to Landfill.

The site houses a fully automated sortation, grading, shredding, washing and bailing systems all feed by a range of manual handling equipment including Forklifts, telehandlers and light yellow goods vehicles. The site employs three full time Forklift Service Technician to maintain this busy fleet of 27 vehicles and they now require a fourth.

The Role

The role will require the Service Technician to maintain their fleet of manual handling equipment across their two sites in Leicester. This will involve fault finding on vehicles, isolation and repair of faults, complete strip downs and rebuilds, and some light fabrication and welding.

The Service Technician would need to be able to fault find on both electrical and mechanical systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics. Candidates will also be performing engine diagnostics on the fleet.

In terms of their fleet, the Forklift Service Engineer would be looking after the following:

  • 6x Doosan Counterbalances
  • 8x Linde Counterbalances
  • 8x Skid Steers.
  • 3x Caterpillar 930Ms.
  • 1x Volvo L60E.
  • 1x Telescopic Handler

*Note all of these are Diesel. Full training will be provided on heavier mobile plant.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills or attributes:

  • Must have worked on Forklift Trucks or Manual Handling Equipment in previous Roles.
  • Must be Multiskilled, being able to handle both electrical and mechanical issues.
