Site Mechanical Fitter

Rate: £20.00p/h gross - Limited or Umbrella (Outside IR35)
3–6-month contract
Mechanical / heavy / plant / conveyors / gearboxes
Our client
I am working with a key client who are a heavy plant, materials handing engineering, construction, and service company, based out Yorkshire. They require Mechanical Fitters on a key customer site for a minimum of a three-month contract, to assist on the maintenance & upgrade of key operational capital equipment.
The successful Mechanical Fitter with carry out the following responsibilities:
v Working on an array of equipment such as gearboxes, shafts, head drums, bearings, conveyors, drives and motors, screens, rollers, belts, and valves etc
v Read and interpret engineering drawings
v Some basic fault finding where required
v Liaise with other teams and key stakeholders
v Ensure mechanical specifications are met
v Report any snagging issues or problems to Supervisor
v Ability to work professionally on site at clients’ premises, being a key representation
The successful Mechanical Fitter will ideally have the following:
v Strong communication skills, with a keen eye for Health, Safety and Quality
v Experience in heavy industry such as mining/power stations/steelworks etc
v Site safety passport essential
v NVQ L2/3 or Time served Mechanical Fitter essential
v Ability to travel or be commutable to NE Lincs
Benefits of this position:
v Outside IR35 suitable
v Minimum 4-5 months contract
v Standard 40hr week, working Mon-Fri (no weekends)
v Some Overtime available (4-8hrs p/w)
