Site Pipefitter’s Mate
Location: Birmingham
6 Month Contract
Rate: £20.00 – £21.00 p/h (Outside IR35)
55–60 hours per week
Mon–Thurs 7am–5:30pm | Friday 7am–1pm
CSCS Required
Site Installation / Mechanical Engineering / Stainless Steel Pipework / HVAC
Business Overview:
Due to a significant increase in workload on a major project, they are recruiting for a Site Pipefitter’s Mate to support installation works. This is a long-term contract opportunity with work secured on site until at least September.
The Role of Site Pipefitter’s Mate includes:
• Working alongside experienced Pipefitters to support mechanical pipe installations on site
• Preparing materials, handling pipework and ensuring components are ready for installation
• Assisting with the assembly and positioning of pipe supports and containment systems
• Helping with basic measuring, cutting and alignment tasks under supervision
• Maintaining organised work areas and ensuring tools and materials are available when required
• Following site safety procedures and supporting compliance with project RAMS
The successful Site Pipefitter’s Mate will need the following attributes:
• Previous experience working as a Pipefitter’s Mate or Mechanical Mate
• Familiarity with mechanical installation environments (HVAC, heating or process pipework advantageous)
• CSCS Card essential
• IPAF desirable
• Reliable, hard-working and keen to develop further trade skills
