Site (semi-skilled) Mechanical Fitter
Liverpool
2-3-week temporary contract (Min. 50hrs p/w Mon-Fri)
Rate: £18.00/h (Umbrella) OR,
£15.64p/h (+ £1.89p/h hol. pay) PAYE
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a key client based in South Yorkshire, who are a global leading Engineering manufacturer. This role requires an immediate start. They operate in the Installation and commissioning of conveyors and associated materials handling equipment into heavy engineering, marine, industrial & mining process sectors. Due to project demands, they are looking for semi-skilled mechanical fitter to join their team on a 2–3-week initial basis.
For the position of semi-skilled Mechanical Fitter, you will require to conduct the following daily duties:
v Fitting and securing of associated guarding and barriers on newly installed safety system
v Bolting and securing guarding safely and to specification, working on gantries etc
v Working to required instruction from Site Supervisor
v Utilising hand tools, securing general nuts and bolts etc
v Lifting and shifting products up and down gantries where required
v Use of chain blocks for moving awkward loads
v Helping with snags and generally assisting the team where necessary
v Adhering to all H&S requirements
The successful semi-skilled Mechanical Fitter will need to have the following attributes:
v Knowledge of heavy materials handling equipment, and site installation work.
v A heavy industrial engineering background (power/marine/mining)
v NVQ Level 2 mechanical engineering (beneficial)
v Site safety passport - CSCS / CCNSG / Ace card (REQUIRED)
v Tools will be supplied, , however, ideally you will provide your own PPE (safety boots, overalls etc)
v Hard working, professional & approachable
v Flexible and prepared to do what it takes to complete the work required
v Able to work within tight time constraints
