With almost 40yrs experience in their field, my client is one of the leading Powered Access and Plant Hire suppliers in the East Midlands
They are actively recruiting for a Yard Operative / Tool Checker to join the well-established sales team to join them. Could this be you?
This role is very “hands on” checking and servicing tools in the workshop. The role also requires someone who is self-motivated with good customer service skills, a flexible attitude to problem solving and experience of small petrol, diesel and electrical tools is essential.
Do you have experience with Stihl, Wacker and PAT testing this job will be for you!!
Role and responsibilities:
Working to daily & weekly schedules
Problem solving
Assisting the engineers on site as required in recovering equipment.
Ensure adherence to workshop, quality, and Health & Safety protocols
Day to day housekeeping of workshop and yard
Strive for workshop efficiencies & process improvements
Use of fork truck to move equipment around the yard and load/unload as required.
Support the hire desk by making equipment available.
Deal with customer collecting/returning equipment by taking photographs and checking equipment
Rotate the stock of electrical machines and charge up, as necessary.
To inform the Service Manager of repairs which are under warranty or off an urgent nature.
To have total control of the tools area, including storage and organisation
Skills:
The ideal candidate will be commercially driven with hands on experience.
Must take pride in their work and be organised.
Experience in a similar role
Ability to work under pressure to set deadlines and must be able to work on own initiative
A confident and flexible attitude and comfortable dealing with customers.
Full driving licence preferably with towing experience
Terms:
Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm
22 Days holiday per year

Hourly rate of £9.00 per hour
