2022 was certainly the most interesting and indeed challenging year I’ve experienced across my 23 years experience in engineering and manufacturing recruitment. The skills gaps created by Brexit and the mass return of skilled workers back into the EU (330,000 in total) widened with the number of unfilled vacancies in the UK economy peaking at 1.3m in May.
