Shifts: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Flexible start times available)
Early Friday Finish: 2 PM finish on Fridays

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join a UK-based engineering business with a global footprint. This company is a key player in the design and manufacture of high-performance coil processing systems, motor drive technologies, and bespoke test rigs. With customers across Europe, North America, and Asia, the business delivers precision-engineered solutions to some of the world’s most advanced manufacturing sectors.
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be involved in the full project lifecycle—from concept and design through to build, installation, and commissioning. This is a dynamic role that offers both technical challenge and the opportunity to work on international projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems using E-Plan, including wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and control cabinet layouts.
- Produce 2D CAD drawings and, optionally, 3D models using E-Plan ProPanel (training available).
- Preparing designs for manufacture and working with external suppliers.
- Specify appropriate electrical components and systems for bespoke machinery.
- Support sales proposals with technical input and design documentation.
- Prepare designs for manufacture and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer in an industrial or automation environment.
- Proficiency in E-Plan for electrical design and documentation.
- Strong communication skills and a methodical, detail-oriented approach.
- BS7671 – 18th Edition qualification (preferred but not essential).
- Hands-on panel wiring/build experience (preferred but not essential).
