Electrical Project Manager – MV & LV Switchgear

Location – North Yorkshire

Length of contract: 6 months (likely extension)

Rate: £400-£450 per day DOE (Ltd co. outside IR35)

MV & LV Power / 3 Phase Distribution / Switchgear / Project Management

 

I am working with a key client in the North Yorkshire area who are a rapidly growing business, that supply their products to the UK power distribution markets.

They are looking for an experienced Project Manager to run projects, overseeing MV & LV power and distribution programmes. Offering guidance, direction, and strategic solutions to projects, and ensuring programmes are implemented and taken through to delivery.

For the position of Project Manager, you will require to conduct the following duties:

  • Reporting to the Business Unit Director, provide Leadership and guidance
  • Manage MV & LV projects, monitoring and looking at standards
  • Manging risks and dealing with deviations to the projects
  • Support electrical team, consisting of installation engineers
  • Strategic support to day-to-day operations where required on the projects
  • Managing all stakeholders internally and externally, including key customers, specialist sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Expediting and ensuring the project plan is being executed
  • Completion of projects through delivery, ensuring budget & quality are delivered on time
  • Ensuring H&S requirements are adhered throughout

The successful Project Manager will need to have the following attributes:

  • Previous hands-on electrical experience in engineering capacity (Electrical time served / NVQ / ONC / HNC electrical would be beneficial)
  • Highly knowledgeable in Switchgear & 3 phase power
  • AMP / APMP - Project management
  • Proven Strategic thinker, problem solver
  • Leadership and project management experience
  • Proven background in delivery of complex engineering projects
  • Strong communicator at all levels and proactive – a ‘do-er’
  • I.T / computer skills, MS Office / Outlook / MS Projects
  • Work in the office 5 days per week ideally
