My client is a leading manufacturer in the UK operating out of company operating across every continent employing over 6,000 staff in the UK. Established over 35 years ago, with a multi-million-pound turnover business, our client continues to grow from strength to strength using the latest technology while also minimising its impact on the environment.
Their site in Nottinghamshire is renowned for their quality and customer service, offering their clients, who are also the leaders in their field, solutions to meet all their customers needs.
This site employs over 1800 staff and are looking to increase their engineering team with a engineering shift manager. You will be working with a fantastic and highly skilled team who continuously strive to decrease downtime and increase efficiencies.
The business has a real focus on engineering and has an apprenticeship programme and this role will offer you the chance to mentor those beginning their career within maintenance.
Role
As an engineering shift manager your day-to-day duties will include:
- Managing 1 Team Leader and 8 engineers
- Planning of maintenance activities for your engineering team
- Manage your own budget
- Be a lead on projects when they arise
- Dealing with suppliers
- Train, develop and mentor engineers
- Manage contractors on site
- Ensure KPIs are met
- Attend engineering meetings
- Work towards a culture of CI
Candidate
The successful candidate for the Maintenance Supervisor needs to be:
- Minimum of level a level 3 engineering qualification
- Managed or Supervised a team
- Ideally have worked within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
