Salary - £41,000

My client is a global company operating across every continent employing over 2,000 staff in the UK. Established over 100 years ago, with a multi-million-pound turnover business, our client continues to grow from strength to strength using the latest technology while also minimising its impact on the environment.
Their site in Leicester is renowned for their quality and customer service, offering their clients, who are some of the world’s leading brands, solutions to meet all their packaging needs.
This site employs over 200 staff and are looking to increase their health and safety team even further with a Health and Safety co-ordinator with a background within Engineering. You will be working with a fantastic and highly skilled team who continuously strive to improve the site.
The Role:
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager the Health and Safety co-ordinator will promote the highest level of awareness and compliance in all aspects of Safety, Health and Environment Management.
This will also include:
- Attending maintenance meetings to discuss issues
- Co-ordinating, assisting, conducting and reviewing site risk assessments
- Leading and participating in EHS audits to ensure legal compliance.
- Carry out internal EHS inspections, checks and audits
- Supporting the development and implementation of the site EHS improvement plans
- Incident investigation & reporting
- Development and delivery of HSE training
The Candidate:
To be successful in this role the Health and Safety co-ordinator will have practical experience of HSE function within a Manufacturing environment. You will be qualified to NEBOSH General level and have a hands-on approach.
You will have technical knowledge of both PUWER & COSHH and a a sound knowledge of EHS principles and legislation. You will be computer literate (Microsoft Word & Excel) and have a methodical and organised approach to your work with excellent attention to detail.
It is key that you will have a background within engineering, either from being hands on or a qualification.
