Junior Electrical Engineer
Staffordshire (Commutable from Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and Birmingham)
£24,000 – 32,000 + £20 Per Hour Overtime + 50% Salary Uplift When Overseas

My client is the market leading business in process engineering who provide who design and deliver turnkey projects for customers in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical amongst other industries. The company have a trading history that dates back over 200 years and a senior management and directorship team who are all home grown from within the business.
The company employs 200 staff of which over 100 are employed in professional engineering roles (with many chartered engineers) across software, process, electrical and mechanical disciplines. The company have grown incredibly from £25 million five years ago to £50 million today. The business is continuing on its impressive growth curve and expect to be a £100 million business in the next three years.
The business can offer fantastic development and training for Junior Electrical Engineers as they have Senior Electrical Engineers who can mentor you on projects. The business an accredited Graduate training programme.
As part of their growth they are currently recruiting for a Junior Electrical Engineer, you could be an Electrical Engineering graduate looking for an opportunity who a junior electrical engineer looking for a market leading business to work for.
The Role
After project has been won & a P&ID is created by the process design team, the Junior Electrical Engineer will be supported on projects by the Electrical Engineering Manager and more Senior Electrical Engineers in areas of the role below where you need support.
The full role will involve:
- Carry out the electrical design work – cable calculations, sizing motors and other electrical components.
- Create single line diagrams, create cable schedules and layout for the electrical installation.
- Create specifications for controls panels and send these for tender to suppliers.
- Create specifications for electrical installations and send these out for tender.
- Analyse the supplier tenders for cost and technical comparisons and select the appropriate supplier for each area of the project.
- Manage and oversee the suppliers building the control panels for the project.
- Overseeing acceptance and functional testing for the panels once they are manufactured.
- Oversee the electrical installation activity going on at site
- Carry out electrical commission activity at site before site goes into production.
The Person
To be successful in your application for this Junior Electrical Engineers role you will need:
- An electrical engineering qualification of HNC, HND or Degree.
- To be willing to travel oversees when overseeing installation and commissioning on projects.
