Job Title – Maintenance Engineer

Hours of Work – 4 on 4 off Days and Nights

Location –   Chesterfield

Salary - £55,000 (x1.5 + x2.0)

Benefits –Production bonus £2,500 per year – Contribution pension 3% company pay in 7%.

The Company

Our client specialises in the manufacturing of products for the construction market. With 5 manufacturing sites across the UK and over 60 globally, this billion-pound company have been investing heavily across both their production sites to help meet an ever-increasing market demand for construction materials.

The business has been experiencing a huge period of growth having increased their turnover by year after year. With no sign of a slowdown in the Construction, Civils or Rail Sectors.

Their site based in Chesterfield is one of their flagship site and houses the most modern fully automated production plant in the UK. The facility is designed to produce 100 meters of product per minute which is completely bespoke.

To help meet market demand the site has invested 4 million pound each year for the past 5 years and focusing on a huge LEAN and Continuous Improvement Project to further boost production levels.

The Role

The Maintenance Engineer would be joining a well-established team of 14 engineers on site. Working on a Days.

Day to day the Maintenance Engineer would be responsible for dealing with all Electrical Maintenance tasks on shift, which would consist of reacting to breakdowns, performing tasks from the PPM schedule and installation upgrade work as part of a companywide Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiative.

Hands on the Maintenance Engineer will need to be able to fault find with a multimeter against electrical drawings, fault find on PLCs, change faulty electrical components such as switches, sensors, fuses, relays, inverters, servos and motors, plus safely isolate any piece of equipment and work on electrical safety circuits. Equipment on site includes conveyors, mills, presses, robots, dryers, kilns and palletisers.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application for Maintenance Engineer you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:

  • Must have a recognised Electrical Engineering Qualification.
  • Must have previous experience working on automated plant.
  • Must be able to fault find using a Multimeter against electrical drawings.

Training & Development

The business can offer a number of in-house and external college courses for all of their staff. Training courses are selected on a case by case basis for individual engineers depending on what development is needed. There are also various courses that all Engineers are sent on, including Siemens S7 training for Modification.
