Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical bias), £49500, Arnold Nottinghamshire, 4 On 4 Off D/N.
OTE of £55,000 thanks to overtime (paid at 1.5x and 2x) and bonuses. Generous 10% pension, plus other site-specific benefits.
The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a maintenance engineer to join a large, well-invested site that forms part of a nationally recognised group. This is a high-performing facility with state-of-the-art machinery and an experienced engineering team. You’ll benefit from an excellent rota that allows for regular long weekends off while earning a strong base salary and enjoying long-term job security.
The Role
As a maintenance engineer, you’ll work with a range of heavy-duty automated machinery including:
- Large mixers and slicers
- Conveyors, silos, and hoppers
- Kilns, hydraulics, and pneumatics systems
Your focus will be 70% reactive and 30% PPM, using a tablet system for job tracking. This role places a strong emphasis on mechanical maintenance and repair. You’ll need to be confident working with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, and chains. Fabrication and welding experience is a plus.
The Person We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role as a maintenance engineer, you’ll need:
- A strong background in mechanical maintenance within industrial or manufacturing environments
- Experience working on gearboxes, motors, belts, pulleys, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Confidence with strip-downs, rebuilds, and reactive mechanical fault diagnosis
- An NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in engineering (ex-Forces welcome)
- A proactive attitude and flexibility for overtime and development
