Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Shifts – 4on 4off

Location - Leicestershire

Salary - £41,000 - £44,000

Benefits – 24 days + bank holidays, healthcare, pension

My client is a global company operating across every continent employing over 2,000 staff in the UK. Established over 20 years ago, with a multi-million-pound turnover business, our client continues to grow from strength to strength using the latest technology while also minimising its impact on the environment.

Their site in Leicester is renowned for their quality and customer service, offering their clients, who are some of the world’s leading brands, solutions to meet all their packaging needs.

This site employs over 200 staff and are looking to increase their engineering team even further with an electrical engineer. You will be working with a fantastic and highly skilled team who continuously strive to decrease downtime and increase efficiencies.

The business has a real focus on engineering, with apprenticeship programmes and this role will offer you the chance to mentor those beginning their career within maintenance.

Due to their growth over the last 6 months and continued investment in to the site they now require an electrical maintenance engineer.

The Role

The electrical maintenance engineer will be responsible for all fault finding and rectification work on production lines on site. This would include fault finding through to a competent level with a multi-meter or by checking inputs and outputs, reading schematics and checking HMI screens.

Electrical components include sensors, relays, safety circuits, 3 phase motors, conveyors, converters, switches & panels.

You will ideally have knowledge of working on Allen Bradley PLCs.

You will work with a team of highly skilled engineers who will support you on shift and you will also mentor junior engineers as they pass through their apprenticeship programme on site.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:

  • Must have a recognised ELECTRICAL engineering qualification (apprenticeship, NVQ level 3, BTEC, ONC, C&G, HNC, HND).
  • Experience of working within a FMCG or Automated Production environment.
  • A positive can-do attitude.
