My client is a thriving family run business who are a fantastic business that are growing year on year. They have been established over 100 years and are very stable, with more growth and acquisition on the cards. The company are upgrading the current machinery on site and are keen to send teams away on courses to ensure they fill any skill gaps in the team.  This multimillion-pound business handles a huge variety of produce and are leading within their market. They specialise in the farming, packaging and distribution of products. This would be a fantastic opportunity for a keen Maintenance Engineer who likes to fault find, be up to new challenges and enjoys being the go to person on site.

As a Maintenance Engineer you will be expected to:

  • Fault find across the site (they have 3 separate factories that you will be looking after as part of a 4 man team)
  • Keep the PPM system up to date and carry out as much proactive maintenance as possible on shift.
  • Be involved in projects such as installations of new machinery, overhauling and implementation of a CMM system.
  • Machinery you can expect to work on is: line washers, multi head weighers, pumps, fillers, conveyors, baggers, flow wrappers, graders, check weighers and pallet wrappers.
  • You will be expected to work on a multi skilled basis with the need to fault find on basic electrical or mechanical faults. Some lines are PLC controlled but you will not need to go into code.
  • Keep the workshop and stores area clean and tidy and work to a high level of health and safety.

To be a successful Maintenance Engineer you will need:

  • Must hold an electrical or mechanical engineering qualification.
  • Experience within a fast-manufacturing site would be ideal but not essential.
  • Must be able to fault find on electrical or mechanical faults.
  • Happy to work in a team and take on board new training
