A recognised high-volume and specialist manufacturer is currently looking to strengthen their Engineering department with the appointment of a electrically biased maintenance engineer. With a full order book record growth this a great time to join a growing company. Lots of overtime available. Due to growth in the business, they are currently looking for a maintenance engineer to work at one of their Birmingham sites. The role would suit someone who is happy working under their own supervision, who enjoys autonomy and is looking for a role on a day shift patterns NO nights!. The role Maintenance engineer
The role works on a double days shift pattern with two weeks out of three doing the morning shift (6am to 2pm) and the other week on afternoons (2pm to 10pm). The morning shifts tend to be more reactive in nature as this is when the site distributes. The afternoon shift is then used to follow up on planned maintenance activities.
The role will involve:
- Electrical work including – fault finding, repairing sensors, photocell, cables and replacing motors and inverters.
- Mechanical work including issues with drive belts wearing on conveyors, planned maintenance (all equipment on a 12 week schedule)
- Walking the machinery at the start of shift to talk about any issues with operators
- Reactive maintenance work mainly on the morning shift.
- Carried out planned maintenance activities
- Identifying faulty electrical components such as sensors, inverters, broken cables, safety circuits.
- Routine maintenance of equipment and facility services, fault, prevention, finding and repair of equipment and services.
- Carrying various electrical installation onsite
Working on conveyors, bending machines, slighting machines, laser machines and cutting equipment its medium to heavy industry – knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics I required
The company offer a good training and induction programme where they would have you learn how to use some of the machinery before getting one on one mentoring with one of their most experienced engineers.
To be successful in your application for this Maintenance engineer role you will need:
The ideal EMaintenance Engineer will have as many of the following in order to strengthen application: Knowledge of safety circuits, Invertors, how relays operate, speed control systems A mechanical understanding would be advantageous gearboxes, pumps, pneumatics Knowledge of PLC's advantageous Electrically qualified Must be able to present these at interview.
Knowledge of pumps, pipework, filters, and pneumatic and hydraulic systems would also be great
Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship & Qualification or equivalent
