What you’ll be doing
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for keeping a fast-paced automated logistics facility running efficiently, with a strong focus on reducing downtime and improving reliability. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reactive and planned maintenance across automated conveyor and sortation systems.
- Mechanical fault finding on conveyors, monorail systems, pneumatics, bearings, belts, sprockets, and rollers (approx. 70–80% mechanical).
- Electrical fault finding using a multimeter, reading schematics, working in control panels, and changing drives and inverters.
- Monitoring PLC-controlled systems and supporting basic diagnostics (training provided).
- Working on equipment such as sorters, conveyors, barcode scanners, booms, and high-speed camera systems.
What the client is looking for
To succeed as a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll need:
- A Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Ability to fault find mechanically and electrically and be able to isolate equipment effectively
- Confidence working in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on reliability rather than firefighting.
