About the company

If you are a maintenance planner looking to join a team that will be working in a brand new fully automated manufacturing site in 2022, then this may be the role for you.

ATA are supporting a national engineering business on for a maintenance planner to join their growing team. The company who are a giant within construction materials sector, are a multi-site manufacturing business employing over 2000 people across the UK. They have been established for over 60 years and boast a portfolio of manufactured goods second to none. These goods are some of UKs most recognisable brands, which have become a staple part of the British construction market. With a turnover eclipsing £400 million the business is going from strength to strength and are set to grow even further in 2022 due to the opening of a brand-new supersite in Leicestershire. This site will be the largest and most automated of its kind in Europe.

About the role

As a maintenance planner, you will be responsible for managing a busy maintenance system for a production site in Leicestershire. You will be responsible for providing a 14 strong engineering team their schedule for that day, including preventative maintenance, scheduled downtime and project work. You will have the responsibility of writing critical breakdown, OEE, and reliability reports and then presenting this to senior management within the group.

As you will be moving over to the new site in 2022, you will have the exciting task of setting up the system and implementing this. Implementing the new system will allow the site to become LEAN and allow on-site engineers to take part in continuous improvement projects further improving the plant.

Further responsibilities include.

  • Managing external contractors, checking they have the correct RAMMS, PPE, work permits and setting up SLA contracts.
  • Compliance and health and safety.
  • Organising and managing site safety tests, including fix wire testing, compressor services and slings and hoist tests.
  • Budget control
  • Critical stock control.

About you

As a maintenance planner should have the following:

  • It is essential to have previous planning experience, ideally from an engineering environment.
  • It would be desirable for this planning experience to also be within a maintenance setting.
  • A methodical mindset, with the ability to problem solve and adapt with short notice.
  • The ability to work within a proactive nature.
  • Have a passion for engineering,
