Maintenance Team Leader – £57,413 + Overtime – Lutterworth
Shift Pattern: Panama (12-hour days and nights)
A leading automated logistics site in Lutterworth is searching for a hands-on and proactive maintenance engineer to step into a Team Leader role, offering a salary of £57,413, regular overtime (paid at 1.5x Mon–Sat and 2.0x Sun), 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, private healthcare (including family options), a 5% pension contribution, and death-in-service benefit—all within a facility that champions engineering development, technical training, and career progression.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled maintenance engineer to lead a team of multi-skilled engineers in a fast-paced automated environment. You'll be based on-site at a large-scale distribution centre, taking ownership of shift activity and supporting continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of resident engineers, delivering maintenance support within KPI targets
- Coordinate daily tasks, allocate resources, and manage shift priorities
- Drive safety, performance, and professional development within your team
- Oversee PPMs and reactive maintenance on conveyors, palletisers, robotic arms, and shuttle systems
- Complete reports, risk assessments, and method statements to ensure compliance
- Mentor and develop engineers through coaching and performance reviews
- Promote and ensure adherence to safety regulations and best engineering practices
What We’re Looking For
This role is ideal for a maintenance engineer ready to take the next step or an existing Team Leader looking for a new challenge in a large-scale automated setting.
You’ll Need:
- A Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (apprenticeship trained preferred)
- Experience as a maintenance engineer in a highly automated environment (logistics, FMCG, etc.)
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor
- Flexibility to adapt to change and maintain professionalism in a customer-facing environment
- Good electrical and mechanical knowledge (gearboxes, relays, drives, sensors, bearings)
- Confidence with fault-finding, basic I/O checks, and using tools like multimeters
- The ability to work at heights and in a physically demanding environment
