About the company
Toyota, the world’s largest automotive manufacturer, is recruiting multiple Maintenance Technicians for its prestigious production shops at the Burnaston, Derbyshire plant.
Home to the iconic Toyota Corolla—the world’s most popular vehicle—this state-of-the-art facility has been at the heart of the community since the early 1990s. Today, it employs over 2,000 dedicated team members who all play a vital role in Toyota’s continued success.
As Toyota’s flagship European site, TMUK contributes over £3 billion annually to the group’s £210 billion global turnover and is recognised internationally for its pioneering use of cutting-edge technologies.
The plant consists of five manufacturing shops—Press, Body, Paint, Plastics, and Assembly—each offering its own engineering challenges, from precision stamping to final vehicle build.
About the role
Being a Maintenance Technician at Toyota is about more than just fixing machines — you’ll be at the heart of production, ensuring smooth operation and driving efficiency. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out PPM to minimise downtime
- Fault finding using various methods, including PLC diagnostics
- Improving machine reliability through proactive maintenance
- Supporting CI and project-based improvement work
About you
To thrive in this environment, you’ll be proactive, solutions-driven, and committed to doing the job right first time.
- Multiskilled with mechanical or electrical bias
- Already working as a maintenance technician in a factory environment.
- Experience in a manufacturing or fast-paced environment
- Apprentice trained & NVQ Level 3 qualified
- Comfortable working shifts and supporting overtime when needed
