Manufacturing Engineer
Blackburn area – Contract/Interim opportunity
£35.00 - £40.00p/h Gross rate (Outside IR35)
3-6-month contract, likely extension/on-going/T2P
I am working with a globally recognised manufacturing organisation in the Blackburn area who are looking for result focused, driven Manufacturing Engineer, to help improve manufacturing processes.
Overview:
The emphasis will be on improving cost and delivery, whilst maintaining quality. This role will sit within the operations department and requires a common-sense approach to improving processes, reducing cost and delivery. The ideal candidate needs to be hands-on and extremely pro-active to drive change from the front.
The role of the Manufacturing Engineer will involve the following:
- NPI & CI of manufacturing processes
- Liaising with Engineers and Operatives on shop floor
- Control of the BOMs and manufacturing routes on all the job cards
- Analysing data and processes and looking for improvements to manufacturing
- Making sure Work Instructions and SOPs are accurate
- Improve processes within the composites clean room
- Metallics experience would be an additional benefit
The Manufacturing Engineer will need the following skills:
- Manufacturing engineering / degree / HNC / ONC or similar
- Composite lay-ups experience within Aerospace / Aircraft manufacturing a great advantage
- · Able to bring people together and be a natural facilitator
- · Happy to get out on the shop floor. This role requires interaction with team members working across the production process.
