A brilliant opportunity has been raised at their offices in the West Midlands for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work with industry experts on new product development and innovation, you will have the opportunity to provide your expertise and experience on exciting projects from inception to completion.
You will have the opportunity to apply your design skills and experience with ownership of individual projects whilst being encouraged to provide engineering excellence and design innovation to help exceed customer expectations.
The Role:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be reporting directly to the Engineering Director, working with an established engineering team working on bespoke projects as well as product development using Sold Works CAD package.
The Mechanical Design Engineer’s key responsibility will be to:
- Design special purpose machinery using Solid Works CAD software.
- Design bespoke machine components and parts.
- Lead designated design projects, ensuring compliance with the project plans and completion times.
- Support the business with product development and researching new market technology that could benefit existing and future product range.
- Carry out calculation which include stress, load, and torque.
- Occasionally visit client’s site to cover project specifications.
The Candidate:
To be successful in your application for the Mechanical Design Engineer role you will need:
- 2D and 3D CAD software experience.
- Experience in designing special purpose machinery (ideal)
- A Mechanical engineering qualification.
- The ability to perform engineering calculations.
