ATA are working with a leading design and manufacturer of special purpose machinery, assembly systems, and fixtures and tooling for the automotive industry. They provide bespoke services and designs for the likes of JLR, Tesla, Aston Martin, and BMW, due to the upturn in the automotive sector and customer demands they want to take on a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their already dynamic and experienced team at their site in Swadlincote.
You will be able to work on multiple and varied design projects applying your technical skills to design products and machines for some of the World’s leading automotive manufacturers. Our client will provide a smart, comfortable, and professional environment for the suitable Mechanical Design Engineer with the opportunity to excel in engineering design and develop professionally.
The Role:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have a key role to provide and implement your skills on varied design projects.
The Mechanical Design Engineer’s key responsibilities will be to:
- Produce 3D CAD models of mechanical systems, special purpose machinery, assembly fixtures, and production jigs using Autodesk Inventor Professional.
- Create 2D manufacturing, assembly, testing, and installation drawings.
- Liaise between participating departments in design reviews.
- Complete engineering calculations such as FEA, load, strength, and force.
- Work on multiple and varied design projects.
- Create, check, and approve design drawings.
The Candidate:
To be successful in your application for the Mechanical Design Engineer role you will need:
- 3D CAD modelling experience.
- 2D Manufacturing drawing experience.
- Engineering qualification.
- Jigs and fixture design experience (desirable)
