The Company
Our client design and manufacture hydraulic and pneumatic components for the process industry. With eight UK locations supporting a wide range of companies across FMCG, Aerospace, Water, Automation, and Metals Manufacturing, the UK business now generates £40 million turnover.
Having made a number of acquisitions, this company have been able to develop their bespoke engineering services over the last 10+ years. Now the business is aiming for 10% growth, and as such have been reviewing their internal capability.
As a result they are looking to recruit an Operations Manager with immediate effect.
The Role
The role of Operations Manager is a newly created position for the business. Taking on an established team of 40 across engineering, operations, and sales, this role is critical to driving and achieving company growth targets. The Operations Manager will:
- Manage a single site responsible for producing £1 million of goods revenue per annum
- Oversee all daily operations for the site, including people management
- Drive company sales targets through the management of 2 external sales engineers
- Manage the design team to work effectively and to project timescales
- Ensure machining and assembly adequately plan in line with business needs
- Delivering against circa £4 million per annum budget
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Operations Manager role you will need:
- Demonstratable experience managing in an engineering or manufacturing business
- Experience or interest in managing operations, engineering, and sales functions
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate
- Enjoys being present and visible on the shop floor
- Drive to develop an established business to meet growth targets
