**Quality Inspector**
Blackburn Area
Rate: £19.50p/h Umbrella; OR, £16.25p/h PAYE (Incl. hol. pay)
3-month contract / Temp-to-perm
We are collaborating with a client in Blackburn seeking an experienced Mechanical Quality Inspector. As a Quality Inspector, you will oversee inspection processes to verify compliance with stringent quality standards.
For this position of Quality Inspector, you will require to conduct the following duties:
- Carry out first off, FAIRS and batch inspections
- Provide reports to managers on parts which affect the Quality System
- Ensure all documentation and calibration of equipment is correct
- Ensure that all inspection standards, as agreed with customers’ specifications, are carried out effectively
- Assistance with technical disputes with other department managers and operators
- Ensure full compliance of the company quality system with the requirements of our international standards ISO 9001 & AS9100, and in line with customer approvals
- Support system improvement project teams to ensure product flow is maintained and best practices are achieved
The successful Quality Inspector will need to have the following attributes:
- Experience in mechanical inspection and quality control
- MRP/ERP system experience at an Inspector level (Epicor, SAP, Sage etc.)
- C&G or NVQ L2/3 time served in manufacturing/engineering disciplines
- AS9100 & BS9001 Quality standards preferable
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to understand and correctly interpret drawings
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods, quality system design and documentation
- Experience of manufacturing processes such as hardness, conductivity, tensile and electrical bond testing would be preferable, but not essential
The benefits of this position:
- 4 day working week (7:15am-5:00pm Mon-Thurs) 37hrs p/w
- Overtime rates 1.5x on Friday & Saturdays, 2x on Sundays
