Senior Logistics Specialist / Engineering / Manufacturing Environment

£25-£30 per hour (Ltd Company) - 6 Month Temporary Contract

Burton Upon Trent - East Midlands

This well-established company is at the forefront of technology and have several large projects that they are working on currently.

They are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Logistics Specialist on a temporary basis to support the logistics / engineering team. If you think you are right for this role, then please contact Steve Harrhy on 07827295376.

This will involve:

    • Manage end-to-end logistics for domestic and international shipments
    • Ensure full documentation control including shipping documents, packing lists, collection notes, and tracking via SAP.
    • Use your expertise in international shipping terms, documentation, and processes to ensure compliance and delivery efficiency.
    • Working from client specifications you will ensure that the relevant documentation is created and correct, making sure all export licenses and permits have been generated.
    • Working with the engineering team guaranteeing all other documentation is completed before you sign off the final pack for shipping.
    • Utilising ERP and CRM systems for customer data processing and order handling
    • Review and improve logistics processes, supporting rollout of efficient and scalable logistics practices across our global business.
    • Evaluate and align our logistics network with key suppliers, ensuring cost-effective and reliable service.
    • Conduct internal and supplier audits, tracking performance and identifying improvements.
    • Provide strategic insights, reports and performance data to inform delivery decisions both for customers and internal teams.

To be successful for this role you must possess the following skills and experience:

    • Strong background in logistics and supply chain, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
    • Technical / Engineering / Manufacturing experience
    • Proven experience managing both operational and strategic logistics functions.
    • Hands-on knowledge of international shipping, terms (e.g. Incoterms), customs processes, and documentation.
    • Confident using SAP and other logistics tracking tools.
    • Computer literate – able to use Microsoft Office applications / ERP & CRM systems
    • Good attention to detail
    • Methodical approach to completing tasks
