Role - Senior Reliability Engineer (Mechanical Bias)

Shift - Panamas 6-6 Days only

Salary - £40-42K

Holidays - 25 (rising)

Location - Blackburn, Lancashire

Overtime - 1.5

The Company

I am recruiting for the position of a Mechanical Bias Senior Reliability Engineer to be an integral part of a successful engineering team for a well-respected global leading corrugated packaging company based out of their site in Blackburn. They are specialists in the Food, Drinks and Beauty industry and are working with the some of the biggest names. They work around the clock and are a key long-term packaging partner to their customers.

As a Senior Reliability Engineer, you will work along side an Electrical Bias Senior Reliability Engineer and both overseeing 3 shift engineers plus 1 controller/planner. You will be responsible for evaluating machinery and equipment failure using your engineering experience and training to develop solutions for eliminating potential failures and focusing on continuous improvements. You will be vital in providing leadership and mentorship to other engineers. The role is a 50/50 split where you will too be required to be on the tools to attend emergency breakdowns and cover other engineers in their absence

Other Responsibilities of the Reliability Engineer:

  • Attend mechanical breakdowns, fault find and PPM maintenance
  • Design and implement solutions and focus on continuous improvement for the plant
  • Create and issue PPM schedules and train engineers
  • Some of the machinery to be worked on are corrugate packaging, folder gluers, tray formers, dye cutting and many more
  • Work in line with the company’s Health and Safety
  • Advise and confer with engineers in design review meetings to give reliability findings and recommendations
  • Monitor equipment performance and evaluate equipment history and failure trends to determine sources of poor component performance

Requirements and attribute required by the Reliability Engineer:

  • Advanced maintenance work process knowledge and experience
  • Advanced SAP maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment design reliability principle
  • Knowledge and experience of working within a computerised maintenance system (SAP Preferred)
  • Have Web Handling experience (desirable)
  • A recognised mechanical NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • HND (Desirable)
  • Flexible in your work approach and commit to delivering
  • 90/10 Mechanical split
  • Excellent problem solving and team player
  • Worked in leadership or supervisory role in a similar FMCG environment
