Senior Technical Sales Engineer

Senior Technical Sales Engineer:

  • The successful Senior Technical Sales Engineer will inherit a large portfolio of UK based clients to begin nurturing and building relationships with
  • Mixture between account management and growth and business development – 60% account management
  • Very realistic growth target of 6% annually
  • Working alongside an Account Manager, leads from potential/new clients will be passed over to follow on with a client meeting and discuss new potential opportunities to provide solutions
  • Reviewing the technical issues clients have and coming up with solutions to sell in
  • Building and developing relationships with current clients to grow sales with them
  • Highlighting advantages of certain products and providing commercial information
  • Price negotiation after solution has been sent to client
  • Following up on quotations, cross-selling and up-selling additional services
  • Revitalizing relationships with dormant clients - rebuilding relations
  • Visiting exhibitions and conferences to better understand the industry and meet new potential clients

Experience & background for the role of Field Sales Engineer:

  • A technical degree – Electronics/Physics/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical/Aerospace/etc
  • This role will ideally suit an experienced Technical Sales Engineer with experience selling into an electronics/RF adjacent industry OR an experienced Technical Sales Engineer with significant experience selling into technical/manufacturing environments
  • A proven track record of relationship building, account growth and new business development
  • An analytical, engineer minded Sales Engineer who enjoys being client facing and solving technical issues
  • You must also be self-motivated, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
