ATA Recruitment are supporting a leading global manufacturer of sealing solutions, mechanical seals, and industrial sealing systems is seeking an ambitious Technical Sales Engineer to join their UK team. The company supplies high‑integrity sealing technologies to sectors including oil & gas, chemical processing, energy, pharmaceuticals, food production, water, and general manufacturing. The Role – Technical Sales Engineer
As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for managing existing key accounts across the South of England while driving new business opportunities in industries that rely on complex rotating equipment. You will provide technical product knowledge, problem‑solve client issues, and offer engineered sealing solutions that improve reliability, performance, and operational uptime.
This is a field‑based role requiring a strong balance of technical understanding and commercial acumen. It is ideal for someone with engineering experience who enjoys building relationships and driving sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow sales within an established South of England territory.
- Act as the go‑to Technical Sales Engineer for customers needing sealing solutions, mechanical seals, and related engineered components.
- Provide technical presentations, product support, and on‑site assessments.
- Strengthen relationships with existing accounts and identify new opportunities.
- Work closely with engineering teams to deliver bespoke and standard solutions.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and costings for complex applications.
- Maintain a strong understanding of customer industries, rotating equipment, and sealing technologies.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience as a Technical Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer, Sales Manager, or similar customer‑facing engineering role.
- Background in mechanical engineering, rotating equipment, pumps, valves, seals, process equipment, or industrial components.
- Able to read and understand technical specifications.
- Strong relationship‑builder with a consultative, solution‑focused approach.
- Comfortable working independently across a field‑based region.
Package & Benefits
- Salary: £45,000 – £60,000
- Bonus: £5k – £10k (average)
- Pension: Company contribution 6% (employee up to 10%)
