Position: CAD Design Engineer
Location: Hatfield
Rate: £45 - £50 per hour (Umbrella/Limited), Outside of IR35
Duration: 6–12-month contract

Role Overview: As a CAD Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the construction project lifecycle, responsible for translating architectural and structural drawings into detailed designs for architectural metal and glazing work. Your expertise in AutoCAD and SolidWorks, both 2D and 3D, will be essential in ensuring accurate and efficient design execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Study architectural, structural, and relevant drawings to prepare detailed designs for architectural metal and glazing work.
- Verify that structural calculations have been conducted for all necessary components.
- Generate General Arrangements (GAs) for approval.
- Create fabrication drawings for component parts, ensuring manufacturability.
- Conduct revisions and amendments to drawings based on architect's feedback, communicating potential variations to the project team.
- Produce installation drawings for the site team, facilitating smooth implementation.
- Document all incoming and outgoing project design details meticulously.
- Prepare As-Built drawings for final handover to the Client/Consultant, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D or SolidWorks.
- Experience working for a subcontractor, specifically in designing from Architectural drawings.
- Strong understanding of client specifications and requirements.
- Ability to support engineers, conduct thorough checks, and lead design reviews effectively.
