The Company
Our client manufactures bespoke control panels for the industrial market, with a focus on manufacturing, industrial automation, and Oil & Gas. Operating for over 30 years, the business has a strong record of retention, with many of their team joining straight from education and staying in some cases for the entirety of their career.
Due to an internal promotion, they are looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer with immediate effect.
The Role
The role of Electrical Design Engineer joins an established team of 5 that are solely responsible for designing bespoke control panels. Whilst the initial focus of the role is electrical design, training on PLC Programming will be provided in order to progress to full electrical and controls design. The role of Electrical Design Engineer will involve:
- Designing bespoke control panels on AutoCAD Electrical
- Completing wiring diagrams, BOMs, functional design specifications, and test protocols
- Overseeing design integrity throughout the production process
- Occasional support with commissioning and installation for complex projects
- Responsibility for approximately 3-4 projects at any one time, at different stages of design
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Electrical Design Engineer role you will need:
- Experience designing control panels
- Familiarity with any CAD platform
- The desire to learn PLC programming
- Ability to travel to customer sites as required
