What you’ll be doing
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, fault finding, and repairing a wide range of automated equipment across a high-volume logistics environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Reactive and planned maintenance on EVO shuttles, high-speed conveyors, Pick-to-Light robotic systems, carton erectors, shuttle systems, strappers, lifts, and box-making machinery.
- Electrical fault finding on sensors, limit switches, proximities, control panels, three-phase systems, motors, inverters, and safety circuits.
- Mechanical work including bearings, belts, gearboxes, shafts, pneumatics, and like-for-like rebuilds.
- Using a tablet-based CMMS to manage PPMs, breakdowns, stores, and job logging.
- Customer-facing communication across radio, email, and face-to-face interactions.
- Support from hotline/remote PLC teams, so no PLC programming experience required.
The successful Maintenance Engineer will work in a hands-on role with approximately one hour of computer-based logging and CMMS administration each shift.
What the client is looking for
To succeed as a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll need:
- A recognised engineering qualification equivalent to a Level 3 or above (NVQ, City and Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC etc.)
- Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or automated environment.
- Good communication skills and a proactive, customer-focused approach.
