Location – Leicester

Shift – 4 on 4 off (12 hours, days & Nights)

Salary - £41,000 (plus £1000 annual bonus) + Overtime

The Company

Our client specialises in the production of specialty food products for supermarkets, coffee shops and bakery outlets across the globe. With production sites in over 50 countries, three of which are UK based, they are Europe’s third largest producer of baked products.

The business has over the years provided heavy reinvestment of profits in to new, more efficient production lines, plus a multi-million pound expansion to their Plant. This, coupled with the introduction of Lean manufacturing techniques and a revised PPM system, has allowed them to increase production efficiencies by 100% and the boast of being the most efficient Plant in the group.

Due to the site doubling in size, plus designating dedicated PPM Engineers, they now require two engineers.

The Role

Each Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for performing both diagnostic fault finding and repair on all production equipment on site. Although most breakdowns are mechanical in nature, candidates must be able to fault find on all affiliated electrical systems using a multimeter against electrical drawings.

When not performing reactive maintenance, the Engineer would be tasked with working from the Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule. Every Wednesday production is halted so as to enable all the engineers on shift to concentrate solely on the PPM schedule.

Training & Development

The Business are incredibly proactive with training and development of their Engineers.  All Engineers will receive specialist training.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application for this position of mainteance engineer you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:

  • Must have previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer.
  • Must hold a recognised engineering qualification, minimum level 3.

Thanks to their excellent Training & Development Program, the business is able to take on Engineers without prior Food experience. They are not only keen to speak to Engineers who have come from other industries, but also candidate who have recently left the Armed Forces that have an Engineering specialty.
