Mechanically biased maintenance Engineer

£39,000-£40,000 + up to 7% Pension Contribution + OT + 90 days holiday

Shifts: 12 hours days and nights

Based in Leeds

The Company:

This well established multi-site manufacturing business produce packaging materials for instantly recognisable drinks brands all over the world. The group have invested heavily in brand new plant and equipment for the site in Leeds, and as a result are significantly growing the maintenance team to support it. They are now looking to recruit a number of skilled mechanically biased maintenance engineers.

The Role:

Working a continental style shift pattern of days and nights the mechanical maintenance engineer will be:

  • Conducting reactive maintenance across a fast-paced manufacturing plant ensuring that machine down time is kept to a minimum.
  • Supporting the days-based engineers on planned preventative maintenance and project work
  • Working on mainly mechanical faults on heavy process equipment such as pumps, valves, pipework, as well as furnaces, conveyors, wrapping machinery and palletisers.
  • Depending on your level of expertise you may also be working on AC and DC electrical systems, motors, drives, sensers, switches and PLC’s

Required Experience:

  • The successful mechanical maintenance engineer will have served a recognised mechanical apprenticeship and hold a minimum qualification of NVQ level 3
  • You must be flexible to work shifts
  • A heavier engineering background would be ideal but full training is provided on all plant and machinery so all backgrounds will be considered.
  • Mechanical engineers from the Navy would fit in well
