Manufacturing Engineer – Precision Engineering & Innovation

The company’s product range includes Shell and Tube, Air Cooled, and Brazed Plate Heat Exchangers—critical components in systems that generate waste heat, such as engines, generators, and hydraulic power packs. The Role: Manufacturing Engineer

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll play a key role in evaluating and developing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring product quality. You’ll work closely with design, production, and quality teams to optimise workflows, implement testing methods, and support new product development.

This is a hands-on, varied role that offers the chance to work with CNC machinery (Fanuc and Siemens), develop SOPs and process flow charts, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes and layouts.
  • Design and implement testing methods to ensure product and process quality.
  • Analyse production data to drive improvements in throughput and cost.
  • Support maintenance and repair coordination for manufacturing equipment.
  • Provide technical support across departments and contribute to team training.
  • Maintain compliance with government regulations and internal standards.

What You’ll Need

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, tooling, and materials.
  • Experience with CNC programming and operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and GD&T.
  • Excellent problem-solving and process improvement skills.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach to engineering challenges.

The Package

  • Salary: circa £35,000
  • Hours: 39 hours/week
    (Mon–Thurs: 7:15am–4:15pm, Fri: 7:15am–12:15pm)
  • Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays (including Christmas shutdown)
  • Birthday: Day off after qualifying period
  • Pension: Company contribution after 3 months
